Then join us at Hillside Secure Children’s Home which provides a high quality of care and education for up to 12 young people, aged 10-17 years, within three secure living homes.
We take an eclectic therapeutic approach through direct work supported by a Psychologist, Psychiatrist and Drug Counselling Services. We provide a comprehensive range of education, vocational and recreational learning opportunities to enable an effective response to the identified needs of young people.
We are looking for individuals who have energy, patience, flexibility and understanding, who also have experience of working with young people, preferably within a residential setting. You will also have personal skills, abilities and knowledge in many aspects of child care, youth justice and specialist fields of work with young people.
Shift work, weekend duties, working on public holidays and sleeping in duties on a rota basis are a requirement of the role.
This vacancy has an age restriction of 21 years and above in line with the Welsh Government’s National Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes, Section 20.
The post holder will support the House Manager and manage a Home of up to 4/5 young people whilst on duty. The post holder will be responsible for the direct line management of staff and shift planning. They will also contribute to the Care Planning process alongside the Case Managers.
You will be required to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade A-C), and QCF Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent as per National Framework.
You must also have relevant experience of working with children and/or young people in a professional capacity.
The successful candidates will be required to comply with the requirements of registration set out by Social Care Wales.
