We are currently looking for a Social Worker to join our Community Children’s Team based within the Sandfields area of Port Talbot. As part of a team of Social Workers and Contact/Family workers you will work alongside children, their families and professionals to enable families to achieve their outcomes whether under a Care & Support or child protection plan. The focus is working with families and partner agencies to achieving positive outcomes with children and families within the Sandfields, Briton Ferry, Coedffranc and Baglan areas.

If you would like to be part of a committed, dynamic, supportive and professional workforce within a Service that strives for excellence and supports its employees to achieve their potential, this could be the role for you. We are proud to have a strong and stable management team; training and supporting staff remains a high priority and average caseloads per Social Worker continue to be low. The Service also has separate Intake (SPOC) and Looked After Children teams.
We can offer you secure employment with a very competitive salary and generous terms and conditions including 24 days annual leave (rising to 31 days after 5 years continuous service) plus 2 extra days at Christmas, pension scheme and sick pay scheme. We also have a Health and Well-being Group with a staff lottery and associated discounts. If you are thinking of relocating, there is also a relocation scheme.
Please note that you must possess a relevant qualification in Social Work and be registered with Social Care Wales to apply for this post.
