We are currently looking for 2 Flying Start Parenting Workers to join our dynamic and friendly one permanent and one to cover sickness and absence, initially until 31st March 2026
Flying Start is a Welsh Government program, which seeks to target support for pre-school children and their families within identified areas, and to deliver specific outcomes for children. From September, a phased expansion of the program requires us to expand the early years and family support workforce here in Neath Port Talbot.
Working under the supervision of the Flying Start Parenting Lead, within the multi agency Flying Start Team you will carry out a range of duties to support the continued development and delivery of parenting support within the project in Neath Port Talbot, with a key focus promoting positive parenting to families. Experience of Parent Nurture training, or a commitment to attending in-depth training is crucial to the success of the project. You will hold a caseload of parents with varying needs, some very complex and key tasks will involve lone working. Knowledge/awareness of Social Services, Safeguarding, Child Protection, Court Proceedings, court reports and Statements is essential for this post.
The post holder will need a wide range of skills and experience of working with and alongside parents that are facing difficulties. An ability to work under pressure to complete work by set timescales is essential.
