We are currently looking for a Trading Standards Enforcement Officer to join the Retail, Industrial & Animal Health team of Neath Port Talbot Trading Standards.
The role involves responding to and investigating instances of breaches of a wide variety of trading standards legislation. This includes but is not restricted to Animal Health, Feed, product safety and fair trading, via intervention, business advice and sampling as required by the needs of the service.
The post holder will be expected to embark on the Trading standards Qualification Framework and complete part 1 of the qualification as part of the role.
An enforcement background is essential.
The post holder will be required to visit farm, retail, industrial and similar premises within the Neath Port Talbot area. The ability to speak Welsh is not required.
Experience of working in a Trading Standards department is essential
The Trading Standards service operates a “hybrid working policy”. Officers are not restricted to core times, working from or physically having to report to the office. The role will include some unsocial working hours.
