The creation of the Housing and Communities Department in 2023 and the launch of our Housing and Homelessness strategy in 2024, provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate that has the motivation, energy and drive to deliver a range of projects that achieve the agreed objectives and work plan of the Strategic Housing Team.
In this role, post holder will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of a range of projects, which will include undertaking the development and implementation of policies, business cases and strategies. The post holder will also take forward the implementation of projects to develop services and accommodation options that supports delivery of affordable housing and the elevation and prevention of homelessness.
An ability to form strong and productive relationships with a wide range of partners such as Registered Social Landlords, Private Sector Landlords, the Third Sector and people with lived experance will be essential. This role will also include working with other Departments and Directorates across the Council including Social Services, Planning, Environmental Health, Regeneration and Estates in order to achieve the Council’s strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate high levels innovation, flexibility and self-motivation, with a ‘can-do’ attitude. They will be educated to degree level or have substantial relevant experience, alongside a background in successfully developing and delivering projects and a knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation, housing policy and practice.
