To plan, undertake and produce reports for General/Principal Inspections of highway structures, including identifying defects, inputting data to the structures management system, and generating Bridge Condition Indicators. (Inspections could be undertaken at night, weekends or on bank holidays as and when required). ii. To assist the Senior Engineer in the delivery of the annual structures routine maintenance programme, and provide technical advice in relation to structures maintenance schemes. iii. To oversee data input and management relating to the structures asset inventory within Welsh Government's structures management system. iv. To provide support to the Senior Engineer in relation to Technical, Structural and Contractual matters arising as part of bridge maintenance programmes. v. To support the Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer in the planning, monitoring and control of maintenance works, to an acceptable standard within agreed budgets and target dates. vi. To provide support to the Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer to estimate project costs, determine milestones, monitor programmes and quality requirements in compliance with the client's brief. vii. To assist in the formulation of Asset Management Plans, works programmes and KPIs. To provide technical support to Route Stewards and respond to queries from members of the public. viii. To assist with the investigation of landownership and legal liabilities in relation to Highway structures and third party claims. ix. To assist in the preparation of reports to the Senior Management, and Clients, relating to the inspection and maintenance of both Welsh Government structures. x. To ensure that time records are accurate and submit details promptly. xi. To respond to requests for advice and direction from team members. xii. To comply with the Health and Safety at Work act and CDM Regulations. xiii. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Principal Engineer. xiv. Any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post.
