This position is currently based at The Service Response Centre, The Quays, Brunel Way, Baglan Energy Park, Neath, SA11 2GG (with planned relocation to the Transfer Station at Crymlyn Burrows within 12 months)
We are currently seeking candidates with the necessary experience and knowledge to join our team as our Trade Waste Enforcement Officer.
The candidate will be required to manage the day to day administration of the Trade Waste Service and deal with any queries raised by our trade waste customers. You will work closely with our Collection Supervisors in order to deliver our services and implement any service improvements required. You will be expected to help identify opportunities and deliver services designed to maximise recycling, minimise waste and support the implementation of the council’s waste strategy. Keeping abreast of waste legislation you will provide support to Senior Officers to deliver and improve all aspects of our services in order to help the team achieve or better the next statutory recycling target of 70% by 2025.
The main duties of the post:
You will be responsible for ensuring trade waste agreement forms are processed accurately and liaise with the Wastedata and Benchmarking Officer regarding invoicing and finance procedures.
You will be required to supervise the two Trade Waste Assistants and ensure the section complies with any necessary waste legislation such was EPA 1990 Duty of Care requirements.
The candidate is required to have previous experience of carrying out the tasks associated with the main duties and responsibilities.
You should have experience of dealing with members of the public. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
Ideally you will have;
A candidate with 4 GCSEs is essential.
