We are currently looking for a Keeping in Touch Youth and Community Worker to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Electively Home Educated and Not in Employment, Education or Training young people within Neath Port Talbot.
The main duties of the post;
The Keeping in Touch Worker will provide support for young people aged 15-18 to enter into work experience, education, training and/or employment. This will be achieved by the Youth Worker providing a variety of projects, courses and employability skills for identified young people, using a variety of youth work interventions and sign posting to specialist agencies and organisations.
Applicants should also be able to develop and maintain key relationships with other agencies; possess excellent communication and organisational skills; be proactive and be able to work under their own initiative as well as part of a team.
You will have experience in/of;
Experience of working with and supporting young people who are NEET/ at risk of becoming NEET.
Knowledge of Youth Work practice and methods and ability to apply these to work with young people.
Facilitating young people’s learning, and their personal and social development.
Experience in devising and delivering sessions to young people.
Ability to work independently with young people and manage a caseload.
Ideally you will have;
A minimum of 4 GCE/GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent, which should include English Language.
Qualification in Youth and Community Work or equivalent.
The post requires registration with the Education Workforce Council prior to employment.
