We are currently looking for a 2 Driving Skilled Operatives (Non HGV) to join our team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out ground works and maintenance on highway operations and, in addition, coordinate the work of a multi-skilled team in the absence of a Team Leader or Skilled Ganger.
The main duties of the post;
- General labouring and skilled work in relation to highway maintenance and construction.
-Use of small powered plant and equipment e.g. road saws, whacker plates etc.
-Working in trenches and other open excavations including drainage and ducting work.
-Removal and replacement of damaged road signs, posts and barriers.
-Assisting in the planning of future work including notification of plant and transport requirements and ensuring adequate supplies of material are available.
-Requirement to drive as part of daily duties, along with Vehicle checks, required routine maintenance (oil, water, etc. checks) and cleaning.
You will have experience in/of;
- Previous experience of carrying out the tasks associated with the main duties and responsibilities
-Previous experience of coordinating the work of a small team
Ideally you will have;
-Relevant ‘Streetcare’ training as per requirements of the job description
-C.I.T.B or other accredited qualification in construction works
-Certificate in National Highway Sector Scheme 12D traffic management on rural and urban roads
-Certification in National Highway Sector Scheme 2B installation, maintenance and report of road restraint system
