As a Drainage Officer for the Flood Risk and Drainage Team you'll assist with maintaining drainage systems, preventing flooding, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You'll undertake drainage design works for minor improvements and maintenance projects, provide site supervision, and investigate drainage problems.
The role involves liaising with various sections, directorates, and external organisations, preparing maintenance works, managing minor works contracts, and ensuring compliance with national standards. The role involves a mix of office and fieldwork, offering a diverse range of engaging tasks related to Highways and Land Drainage activities. The role requires contribution to the development of flood risk management strategies and ensuring highways and drainage networks operate effectively during adverse weather conditions. A major part of the role will be to represent the Council in regular public meetings and respond to complaints and enquiries from residents.
Do you have:
A recognised qualification in an engineering discipline at Degree level (or equivalent).Experience and understanding of watercourses and drainage issues.
