Reporting to the West Glamorgan Regional Transformation Manager, this individual will work with partners to develop and co-ordinate a regional approach to volunteering to ensure a more consistent approach is adopted and embedded across the region, thereby ensuring that volunteers are supported and valued.
The post holder will work with partners to implement the regional volunteering strategy and develop a plan to deliver the strategy in order to continue an ambitious approach to developing volunteering excellence.
Tasks will include developing a consistent data set, improving regional understanding of volunteering trends, working with the two local County Voluntary Councils to review best practice resources and working collaboratively with multi-agency service planning boards and subgroups to create appropriate volunteering opportunities.
The postholder will need to have excellent negotiating and communication skills as they will be expected to foster and develop a shared understanding of the value of volunteering across the region.
Personal qualities will include being adaptable, flexible and able to respond positively to change and unpredictable situations as they arise, have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and be self-motivated and able to use own initiative.
The post holder will need to possess excellent communication skills and be proficient at using Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint in addition to a knowledge of Teams, SharePoint and Project Online.
