We are looking for a Planning Technician to join our Development Management team and gain significant experience of working within a progressive authority.

The main duties of this post;
You would provide day-to-day technical support and assistance to those Officers dealing with Planning Enforcement and Major or Complex, Controversial or Significant Planning applications, including managing/organising submitted information, dealing with publicity, and handling matters relating to representations/ consultations.
To deal with all aspects of planning issues associated with general queries on the need for planning permission together with the processing of less complex applications for development, lawful development certificates, and any associated appeals, whilst securing quality and efficient outcomes.
To provide day-to-day technical support and assistance to the enforcement team. Including site visits and recording details of the less complex investigations.
To provide administrative support in respect of Section 106 agreements.

Good communication and IT skills, Ability to deal with a wide range of customers including members of the public, elected members, planning consultants and consultees who contribute to the planning system, in a diplomatic, sensitive and tactful manner given the very emotive issues associated with the planning system and its impact upon communities.
