Hours of work will include Saturday working for which an enhanced rate of pay will be made. The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible in hours of work and location.
Hours of work:
Week 1 Friday 9.30- 12-30 / 2.00 – 5.30, Sat 10.00 – 12.30
Week 2 Mon 2.00 – 5.30, Tues 2.00 – 5.30, Weds 2.00 – 5.30

We are currently looking for a Library Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible to assist in the provision of a high quality, effective and efficient library and information service.
The main duties of the post;
To undertake routine tasks associated with the operation of the Library service, including welcoming users, enrolling new members, processing stock loans, dealing with reader’s requests and satisfying information enquiries.
To ensure the preparation and movement of stock between libraries.
To effectively operate and assist the public in the use of computer facilities.
To assist in promotional events and reader development policies, including story times and craft activities.
To assist users by providing suitable material for information and lifelong learning.
To assist in maintaining a safe working environment for staff and the public by ensuring that the Authorities Health and safety policies are adhered to.
To contribute towards the delivery of the Library Strategy as appropriate.
To assist in the implementation of all Directorate and Corporate policies as appropriate.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the post and grade.
You will have experience in Library and Customer service.
Ideally you will have;
Must possess a minimum of 4 GCE/GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent, which should include English Language
