SOUTH WALES TRUNK ROAD AGENT
Based in the South Wales Trunk Road Agent’s Office in Llandarcy, SA10 6EJ.
The South Wales Trunk Road Agent (SWTRA) is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the strategic road network in South Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government.
The role of the Senior Highway Inspector is to ensure the delivery of the highway asset inspection and inventory collection programmes in accordance with Welsh Government’s requirements. The role will require undertaking safety inspections, detailed inspections, recording inventory and defect information using hand held data capture devices. This information will be uploaded to the Trunk Road Asset Management System and used to enable the highway asset to be managed in accordance with best practice.
The role will require night working and some weekend and Bank Holiday working.
The post holder will make extensive use of industry standard IT systems and experience in the use of hand held data capture devices is essential. Previous experience in highway inspection and knowledge of highway standards and legislation is essential.
The post holder will be required to complete the City and Guilds Highway Safety Inspection Qualification.
The post holder will be required to possess a full UK car driving licence.
Welsh language skills are not necessary
