We are currently looking for a Waste Officer to join our team.
A candidate with HNC or equivalent (or working towards if proof provided) qualification is essential. Membership in CIWM is desirable.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assistance with meeting the service aims and objectives within the operational business plan and service recovery plan for waste services.
The main duties of the post;
To provide assistance with the development and management of waste policy and communications strategy and conduct service improvement reviews to help the authority achieve high recycling rates from household and commercial premises and be responsible for the management of data for recycling performance and assist with Waste Data Flow submissions.
You will assist with aspects of service delivery for our recycling and waste collection services; the management of household waste recycling centres, including responsibility of safe keeping and banking of monies collected from the sale of Council garden waste sacks at the sites.
You will identify and help develop and deliver successfully a range of waste projects which support the implementation of the council’s waste strategy, and associated action plan.
You will regularly prepare and write necessary reports including the presentation to management and members as required.
You are required to have previous experience of carrying out the tasks associated with the main duties and responsibilities and also previous Supervisory/line management experience.
